About this Guide

This guide describes how you can customize SiteScope behavior, capabilities, and display options by working with properties in a number of templates and configuration files used by SiteScope.

This guide contains the following chapters:

Describes how to customize SiteScope alert templates to alter the content and format of alert messages.
Chapter  2    Template Properties
Describes the SiteScope monitor and system properties that can be used to customize the data sent using SiteScope alert templates.

Describes the format and data recorded by SiteScope for each type of monitor.
Chapter  4    SiteScope Configuration Settings

Typographical Conventions

This book uses the following typographical conventions:

1, 2, 3

Bold numbers indicate steps in a procedure.

Bullets indicate options and features.

The greater than sign separates menu levels (for example, File > Open).

Helvetica

The Helvetica font indicates names of interface elements (for example, the Run button) and other items that require emphasis.

Bold

Bold text indicates method or function names.

Italics

Italic text indicates method or function arguments, file names in syntax descriptions, and book titles.

Courier

The Courier font is used for examples and text that is to be typed literally.

Angle brackets enclose a part of a file path or URL address that may vary from user to user (for example, <MyProduct installation folder>\bin).

[ ]

Square brackets enclose optional arguments.
